Navigating Rheumatoid Arthritis – A Path to Wellness and Empowerment
Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disease that primarily affects the joints. It is an inflammatory condition that causes pain, swelling, and stiffness. RA interferes with one’s mobility and daily functions, resulting in disability and can progress to deformity and irreversible joint damage. As with all autoimmune diseases, in Rheumatoid Arthritis, the immune system attacks its own body tissues. In some cases, the inflammatory process may affect other systems, such as the lungs, eyes, skin, heart, kidneys, nerves, and blood vessels. Medical Treatment is focused on the symptoms rather than the cause, and Rheumatoid Arthritis has been labelled as incurable. Medications, in particular NSAIDS, address the inflammation, pain, and slow the progression and may be accompanied by side effects, including stomach irritation, heart problems, and kidney damage. It is important for us to recognize that everything is changeable. We are innately built to survive. Give your body the tools that it needs to heal itself and get out of its way.
